With so much drama in the LBC!! you win some, you lose some ;)

So I competed In the nogi worlds and won match one via Guillotine and won match two via rear naked choke…Round 3 I lost by four points because of a mistake I made early in the round. After that I maintained top position and almost took his back and almost took mount BUT almost doesn’t count, I lost :) I learned though, I am over if I lose as long as I learn. Competition number 8 of the year and I still have yet to be submitted, just means I haven’t run into the right choke yet… I met up with some Laredo boys I trained with and that is another story itself…

Later on that day, my homie Dr. Dre came…jk I did however go eat after annnnnd my 18 year old buddy who lacks a bit of life experience (we were all there once) decides to ask these two black guys as they walk by if they know where to get some Marijuana cigarettes…”Refers”! They say yes and he tells me he will be back…I know off the bat that this is shady but he is determined! I say fine I will go with you and as I mentioned off the bat things don’t look right. To make things clear I do not smoke but am not going to let this kid get raped and killed :) . I follow him maybe five blocks away into a dark neighborhood and Marine mode kicks in. We go into a dark alley and I let everyone walk first as I scan for threats and exits…They go into this beat up apartment complex and something is not right…obviously. My friend gives them the money as they enter and they tell us to wait outside due to security reasons. I see the two bodies pop out of the side of the building, sprinting with their pants falling off. (no homo) I whisper to my friend that his money is on the run and now so are we. We literally chase these guys for about 15 minutes and the whole time I am looking for some sort of weapon. I see a crate and disassemble it quickly and grab two thick wooden boards…one for him, one for me :) I start to yell at my friend like he is part of my “team” in the Marine Corps. I tell him to hug the left side of the road as I hug the right and we are cutting them off. One of them being a great friend leaves the other one and runs down an alley. I make the decision to to only pursue one and yell at my buddy to single him out and keep running. He runs us into this ghetto area and I shake the stick at him and yell “give me the money motherfucker” hahahahaha it looked like two white guys robbing a black guy in the hood! LOL Anyways he looked pretty fearful and said I only have twenty of it please. I said “fucking drop it” and he did then I told him to get out of here. At this point spectators from his “hood” are already eying us. I yell at my friend to get the cellphone on the ground that fell out of his pocket and I grabbed the money. I feel like I am in a hostel environment so I tell my friend to not chase him as he runs and to run to safety. As we run back, maybe 5 minutes into our dead sprint, my friend complains that he feels winded. The only thing that came to my mind was “shut the fuck up, we don’t have time for this shit, this is called E&E” (escape and evasion) Hahaha, the Marine Corps. pretty much saved our ass and our pocket. We run for maybe 10 more minutes and my friend who is in great shape tells me he can’t breath…I yell at him as if he is in my squad “shut the fuck up we don’t have time” as I smirk. I told him he wasn’t going to die and we continue.

Meanwhile, we have two buddies waiting for us at the restaurant that have been texting us worried for half an hour. We arrive all sweaty and breathing heavily as the waitress asks us if we would like something to drink. I say “check please” as my friend says “they know we are around this area, we need to leave” The waitress in panic cashes us out LOL My friend pulls the car up and there are four police officers waiting outside. We had taken off the sweaters we had on and I walk up to the police and say “excuse me gentlemen, would it be illegal if my friend pulls up here to pick us up?” They respond with “not a problem just pull up here.” We have small talk and little do they know I am next to them so I don’t get shot :) The guys phone we now posses had just passed us by and we got in the car safely and are now at our hotel getting ready to go out for the night :) It only cost my friend 40 dollars for us to have this little adventure/story. Lesson learned 18 year old friend, I have been in your shoes once before back in the day and am just looking out. He thanked me and we all cracked up all the way home. I explained to him that it is not worth beating up a scumbag that doesn’t train for 40 bucks in exchange for a free stay in jail and some assault charges. As long as he learned something, I am not mad this happened. We could have gotten robbed, hurt, arrested, etc. however, all that happened is this kickass story…:P
